Your public profile, posts, and stories are visible to other users of the Service as you configure them. Your username is visible to creators whose subscriptions you purchase.
Petnimals uses Stripe as its payment processor. When you purchase a subscription or when a creator completes Stripe Connect onboarding, relevant data is shared with Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Petnimals does not store raw payment card data.
We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, including hosting infrastructure (DigitalOcean) and email delivery (Resend). These vendors are authorized to use your data only as necessary to provide their services to us.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Petnimals, our users, or others.
If Petnimals is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the Service or email of any such change.
Petnimals does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain content moderation records, enforcement actions, and policy acceptance records for as long as they are relevant for compliance and legal purposes, which may be longer than your account lifetime. We retain payment records as required by applicable law and Stripe's requirements.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except for records we are required to retain by law or that are necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as fraud prevention and dispute resolution).
You may review and update your profile information through your account settings. To request a copy of other personal data we hold about you, email admin@petnimals.com.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing admin@petnimals.com. Deletion is subject to our retention obligations described in Section 5.
Petnimals sends transactional emails necessary to operate your account (e.g., account-related notifications). Petnimals does not currently send marketing or promotional emails. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out mechanism.
The Petnimals Service stores your authentication token in your browser's local storage (not cookies) to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics tools. Petnimals tracks activity (posts, likes, follows, story views, subscriptions) as part of operating the Service; this data is stored in Petnimals' own database and is not shared with analytics providers.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, IP-based rate limiting, and access controls on administrative functions. No security measure is 100% effective. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at admin@petnimals.com.
Petnimals is not directed to persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete that information and terminate the account.
Petnimals is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email. The "Version" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
Policy versioning: The policy version accepted is recorded in your account record. When Petnimals issues a new required policy version, existing users will be presented with an acceptance prompt the next time they use the Service and must affirmatively accept the updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before continuing. New account creation also requires acceptance of the current versions.
